“Live Together, Learn Together”
A new program starting fall 2012, Conversation Club is a group mentoring program for newcomer students in high school who are looking to meet new people and seeking to better learn and apply the English language.
This unique program seeks to group newcomers with dedicated young adult mentors (ages 18-24) to encourage learning of language and culture through fun activities, games, and homework help.
Newcomer high school students benefit from the supportive companionship of fellow newcomers and mentors. Held in a culturally diverse local high school, this program provides a fun, friendly atmosphere where newcomers can build on their skills.
It starts with you!
In dedicating two hours a week of their time throughout the entire school year, volunteer mentors will engage in the rewarding efforts of encouraging newcomer students to reach their full potential through leadership, friendship, and fun.
Each time we introduce a group of students to a school-based program, we start something BIG – a life-changing relationship built on friendship, trust and empowerment.
